Best Brunch in London: Our Favourite Spots
We love a good brunch. But not just any old eggs-on-sourdough situation. We're talking about spots that have something extra. Great bakes, a welcoming atmosphere, and menus that make you want to try everything.
Whether it’s a stack of French toast that wins over even the toughest critics (my mother, for one) or a comforting spiced dish that reminds you of home, these are the places we keep going back to.
Here's our personal hit list… tested, tasted, and enjoyed again and again!
Brickwood
Clapham & South London
An OG brunch favourite for us. Brickwood was our weekend staple when we first moved to London over ten years ago, back when we lived in SW London. Even now, we’ll still make the trip back for it. Think Aussie-style brunch, welcoming vibes, and banging bakes.
Top dish? Their hash nuggets as a side… always. And if you spot the French toast on their specials menu, do not skip it. It even impressed my mum (a tough critic of French toast.. it’s her go-to brunch order); she still brings it up years later.
The toasted banana bread with espresso butter is my go-to, and I’ll always grab a Tim Tam muffin on the way out.
We’re partial to the Clapham branch as it’s cosy and feels like a proper neighbourhood café. Since launching in 2013, they’ve stayed independent and now have five cafés across South London.

Brother Marcus
Borough Yards, Covent Garden, Spitalfields, Soho, Canary Wharf, South Kensington and Angel
We’ve been to Brother Marcus for both brunch and dinner — and it hits the spot every time. It’s a modern Eastern Mediterranean restaurant, so expect classic brunch dishes with a twist, and the option of a cocktail if you fancy. We’re especially partial to the shakshuka; warming, spiced and deeply satisfying.
Brunch is served every morning and on weekends, but if you’re still there when the mezze menu kicks in (from midday), you must order the crispy aubergine skewer with shatta herb sauce, labneh and grape molasses. It turned one of our mates from an aubergine sceptic into a full-on fan. Trust us.
Brunch at Borough Yards: Sat: 9 am–4 pm | Sun: 9.30 am–4 pm
Full opening hours: Mon–Fri: 8.30 am–11 pm | Sat: 9 am–11 pm | Sun: 9.30 am–5 pm

Egg Break
Notting Hill
This place does exactly what it says on the tin. Any kind of egg, any time of day. It’s a local Notting Hill gem and walk-in only.
Weekends come with a bit of a wait, but they’ve got a virtual queue through the Dojo app, which makes it manageable, letting you stroll nearby while you wait.
We recommend showing up hungry because you’ll want to split sweet and savoury. I’m obsessed with the Nutella French toast, crusted with cornflakes and served with whipped mascarpone (basically dessert for breakfast). Zaeem’s go-to? The Turkish eggs; comforting and perfectly poached.
Or do what we do: each of us gets a savoury main and shares the French toast as a sweet finish.
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 8 am–3 pm | Sat–Sun: 8 am–5 pm
No reservations, walk-in only
Where The Pancakes Are
London Bridge & Battersea
If you’re after a feel-good breakfast made with care, this is your place. And if you’re in the mood for pancakes, there’s only one spot we’d recommend. Don’t worry, it’s not all sweet — they’ve got savoury stacks too.
Not in a pancake mood? There’s always overnight oats or a continental breakfast, but once you see those fluffy buttermilk stacks pass by your table, you’ll probably cave.
They use organic flour and proper buttermilk, so the pancakes come out light, golden and seriously good. We’re big fans of the original London Bridge spot; it has a chilled atmosphere, with sheltered outdoor seating and views of the Shard.
Reservations available
Early bird offer: Weekdays, 8–10 am. Overnight oats or yoghurt granola + coffee or matcha for £6.50
Lunch deal: Weekdays, 12–2 pm. Any dish + a drink for £15
Fallow
St James, Central London
Fallow is known for its sustainable focus and bold, inventive flavours at lunch and dinner and that same spirit carries into breakfast and brunch.
They’re best known for their Croissant Royales — posh, well-stacked rolls filled with flair. Think Royale with Cheese (sausage, bacon, walnut ketchup, fried egg), or try the Veggie Royale. But don’t miss the more traditional options too: full English breakfasts, granola, or egg dishes all appear with clever twists.
We love going early on weekdays to catch the breakfast menu in full swing in their light, airy dining room. And if the weather’s good, the wraparound terrace is a bonus.
Breakfast: Mon–Fri: 7.30 am–10.30 am
Brunch: Saturdays: 10 am–4 pm
Reservations recommended — especially at weekends
Dishoom
Various Locations Across London
Dishoom is no stranger to London food lovers, but not everyone knows they serve a brilliant brunch. Their bacon naan roll gets the hype, but if you really want the goods, skip that and go for the more traditional Indian options.
Zaeem’s favourite is the Keema Per Eedu – minced lamb with eggs, packed with spice and nostalgia. It reminds him of eating at his parents’ house. I swear by the date and banana porridge in winter, which comes in bottomless portions. And don’t sleep on the unlimited house chai.
It’s got the energy of a real Bombay café — all buzz and bustle — which is exactly how we like to start our weekend mornings.
Breakfast is served 8 am–11.45 am (Weekdays) | 9 am–11.45 am (Weekends)
Reservations recommended, but walk-ins accepted (expect a queue)
