Emilia’s Crafted Pasta - London

Our Rating: ★★ | ££££ - Perfect date night pasta spot, go to St Katherine Docks for a lovely setting (How we rate restaurants)

We first stumbled across Emilia’s Pasta years ago while wandering around London Bridge, and it’s been a firm favourite of ours ever since.

Tucked away in St Katharine Docks, this little pasta spot feels like one of London’s best-kept secrets—though judging by their recent expansion, it might not stay that way for long.

The Setting

We’ve only ever been to the St Katharine Docks branch, which is a tiny, cosy space with a few outdoor tables. It’s perfect for a casual lunch, a chilled-out dinner, or even a solo pasta-and-wine moment. The docks themselves are one of London’s most overlooked little corners. Peaceful, picturesque, and right around the corner from the charming Dickens Inn pub.

Traditional Italian Pasta

What makes Emilia’s stand out isn’t just the flavour, it’s the craft behind the pasta. Every morning, their team makes the pasta fresh and cooks it with a deep respect for Italian tradition.

Emilia’s brings in the Italian science too, carefully pairing the right pasta shape with the right sauce so that every bite is packed with flavour.

They also stick to the Italian philosophy that fresh pasta shouldn’t be a luxury; it should be affordable, regular, and joyful, just like it is in Italy.

What We Ordered

This time we tried:

  • Casarecce with homemade creamy walnut sauce & chestnut mushrooms

  • Truffled Cacio e Pepe (also with casarecce)

  • Bucatini with sustainably sourced Yellowfin Tuna Puttanesca, tomatoes, olives & capers

The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauces were full of bold, balanced flavour.

The walnut and mushroom sauce was rich and creamy, and the truffled cacio e pepe was bold in flavour.

The tuna puttanesca was our least favourite but still hit the spot (I’d go for the pesto one or the bolognese next time).

Don’t Skip Dessert (in Winter!)

Their incredible chocolate brownie wasn’t on the menu this time (apparently it’s a winter special), but if you ever see it, it’s genuinely one of the best we’ve had.

Final Thoughts

Emilia’s Pasta is the kind of place you always want to recommend, but selfishly hope stays under the radar a bit longer. The food is thoughtful, satisfying and made with care

If you're after great pasta in London with a view, a bit of charm, and an atmosphere that feels just a touch off the beaten path, Emilia’s in St Katharine Docks is absolutely worth a visit.
