Best Places to Eat & Drink in Palma, Mallorca

We’ve dipped in and out of Palma a handful of times, often as a stopover before heading to the north coast of Mallorca, a flight home, or most recently, a girls trip. Each visit has given us more reason to linger. From daytime strolls through cobbled streets to late-night dinners, Palma keeps surprising us with its mix of laid-back cafés and buzzing restaurants.

Here are the spots we think are worth adding to your list, whether you’re after a fab coffee, a quick lunch, or somewhere modern, yet traditional for dinner.

Coffee & Brunch

Bacan – Specialty Coffee & Brunch

A bright little spot with an outdoor terrace that’s perfect for a lazy brunch. Expect pancakes, sourdough, granola. We enjoyed their excellent coffee.

Open daily 8am–3pm | No reservations

Mistral Coffee

Mallorca’s first speciality coffee roaster, now with three locations across the city. Great for buying beans or sitting in with a brew and a slice of banana bread or why not try their brunch menu.

  • Coffee House (near Passeig de Born) | Mon–Sat 8.30–6 | Closed Sun

  • Coffee Banc (near Plaza Major) | Mon–Fri 10–4, Sat 10–3 | Closed Sun

  • Ponent (San Augustin / Cala Major) | Daily 8–2.30

Fika Farina Coffee & Bakery

📍 C. del Sindicat, 4 | Open 8am–8pm

A Swedish bakery in Palma serving everything from their popular cinnamon sweet buns to traditional croissants and more. We tried the montaña de coco (coconut mountains); pointy chewy cones that were a new find for us. A perfect place to grab a pastry for your breakfast.

Tapas & Dinner

La Rosa & Colmado

📍 Plaça del Pont, Palma | Open daily 12 noon – 12 midnight (Monday from 7pm)

Colmado opened in 2021 as a tapas bar, with La Rosa located right next door serving as a Vermuteria and tapas spot. Both nail the balance of casual and cool. We loved perching at the counter of La Rosa with vermouth and a smoked gilda. A gorgeous spot for an appetiser.

Zaeem has been to Colmado for dinner and his top picks include the octopus and croquettes.

Both times, the buzzy vibe made us want to stay longer. Book a table if you can.

El Camino

📍 Carrer de Can Brondo, 4, Palma

From Eddie Hart (of London’s Barrafina restaurant), El Camino is his first Palma venture and it’s earned a strong following since it opened. Located in the city centre, it’s all about counter seating along a long marble bar. The focus is on seasonal tapas and small plates, with menus changing throughout the year. We really enjoyed their delicious dishes whilst watching the chefs at work in the open kitchen. So buzzy!

Book ahead – seats go fast. You can book a table up to 3 months in advance.

⏰ Tue–Sat | Lunch 1–3.45pm | Dinner 6–10.45pm (two lunch sittings, three dinner sittings)

El Caminitó

📍 Carrer de les Caputxines, 3, Palma

El Caminitó is the little sister to El Calmino (above), which opened in 2024. We were lucky to get a same-day table and loved its more intimate feel, while still enjoying the same attention to seasonal flavours. A brilliant option if you’re after polished plates and a relaxed evening. We particularly loved the tomato bread, courgette flower and croquettes.

Mama’s Pepper

📍 2 locations: Santa Catalina (5pm–1am) & Plaza Mayor (12–12)

If you’re craving Italian, this is a solid choice. We shared pizza and pasta here during a recent hen do and it kept 20 of us happy in a private side room off their Santa Catalina restaurant. It’s not going to claim the best Italian we’ve ever had, but we were very satisfied with their generous portion sizes, friendly service, and Neapolitan-style pizza that hit the spot.

Sweet Treats

Cremola Gelato Italiano

📍 Locations: Santa Catalina & Palma Centro (with another opening soon) | Open daily 3pm–12am (from 2pm on Sundays)

Because no trip is complete without gelato. The pistachio flavour was our favourite – soft, creamy, and spot on for a hot evening wander.

Beach Clubs

Not our usual vibe but great for groups, hen parties and the likes.

Anima Beach Palma

📍Autopista de Llevant, s/n, Llevant, 07006 Palma, Illes Balears, Spain

Alice booked here as part of a hen party, straight off the beach to a lovely lunch. The menu is slightly overwhelming but at least there is something for everyone. Expect everything from club sandwiches to wasabi tuna tartare, all with sea views and space for big tables. Book ahead if you’re with a large group.

Anssia Gastrobeach Club

📍 Passeig Portitxol, s/n, 07006 Palma, Illes Balears, Spain

We didn’t get to eat here but we loved the look – sleek interiors and a seaside setting. Perfect for sushi, cocktails, and those after a stylish hangout with minamalist interiors. Another good choice for a larger group or hen party.
