Moja Surf Camp Review: All-Inclusive Surf Camp in Morocco
If you’re dreaming of catching waves on Morocco’s sun-drenched Atlantic coast, Moja Surf Camp in Tamraght offers the perfect all-inclusive surf holiday. We spent three nights here and absolutely loved it. Unlike many surf camps in the area that require weekly bookings, Moja Surf offers flexible short- and long-term stays – ideal for travellers who want freedom without missing out on the full surf camp experience.
This review covers everything from daily surf sessions and rooftop dinners to community vibes and cultural activities. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to polish your skills, read on to find out why Moja Surf might just be the best surf camp in Morocco.

Why We Chose Moja Surf Camp
To be totally honest, we booked Moja Surf Camp because we were in a bit of a rush, and they were the first camp we found that accepted a 3-night stay. Most other camps only offered weekly packages, unless you booked at the last minute.
The price seemed great, the reviews were glowing, and it looked like a friendly place, so we just went for it without digging too deep into the details. In hindsight, we’re really glad we did. It turned out to be exactly what we needed.
Only after arriving did we get to know the amazing owner, Othman Zolati. He’s incredibly humble and entertaining, and has a fascinating story – if you’re curious, check out his documentary film Africa and I.
Location: Tamraght, Morocco
Moja Surf is located in Tamraght, a laid-back coastal village just north of Agadir and south of Taghazout. It’s quieter and more relaxed than Taghazout, but still close enough to enjoy the same world-class surf breaks.
You’ll be near Banana Point, Devil’s Rock, and other famous spots. The vibe in Tamraght is calm and welcoming, making it an ideal base for both surf adventures and downtime. Moja Surf arranges transport to all the surf beaches along the coast, so you don’t need to worry about that too much. There are plenty of options
There are some good coffee shops nearby. Hey Yallah was one that we liked, and some smaller local ones too.
There are also numerous convenience stores available for things like water and snacks.
The town feels very local with a few schools in the area and a lovely market, but of course, there are lots of hipster surf camps around as well!
Accomodation at Moja Surf Camp
The accommodation at Moja Surf Camp is clean, stylish and comfortable. You can choose between shared dorms or private rooms, depending on your preference and budget.
The ground floor features a spacious lounge and TV area, where you can unwind, while the rooftop offers stunning views and serves breakfast and dinner. Whether you’re lounging in the sun or sharing a meal, the communal spaces encourage easy conversation and connection.
The accommodation is very clean and has been well-maintained.
What a Typical Day Looks Like at Moja Surf Camp
With it being Africa, things can be very flexible, and nothing is set to a rigid time. You have to get used to that and you will very quickly.
Nothing is set in stone, but you will get plenty of water time without feeling rushed, and the activities are balanced by restful moments:
07:00 Morning yoga
08:30 Big breakfast to fuel up
10:00 Depart for the best surf spot of the day
10:30–12:30 Surf lessons with instructors
12:30 Lunch at the beach
14:00–16:00 Free surf session
16:00 Return to camp
17:30 Evening yoga / market trips / excursions
20:00 Dinner & rooftop activities (movie night, games, surf analysis)
The schedule is flexible and can be adapted to suit your preferences as well as those of the group and the surf conditions. If there are no waves, then the team will plan other trips like hiking or exploring a nearby town.

Surf Lessons & Instructors
The surf setup at Moja is outstanding. Each day, instructors select the beach with the best conditions and transport you there, along with all necessary equipment.
The team is qualified, friendly, and very hands-on. Morning lessons are focused and instructive, while in the afternoon, you have the freedom to free surf – but the instructors are often still around for tips and encouragement.
All equipment, such as surfboards and wetsuits, is included in the package. Just bring your swimsuit, a towel, and suncream – they take care of the rest.
Your belongings can be left at the beach, and there is usually someone looking over your things, so we felt pretty safe in that regard. However, as with any beach, remain vigilant.
*We are beginners, and they have plenty of foam boards. As pointed out by Thijn in the comments, their selection of advanced boards is limited. Make sure you contact them in advance about your surf level and what type of board you want to use*

Extra Activities and Community Vibes
Surfing may be the core of Moja, but the experience extends well beyond the waves. During our stay, we joined:
A trip to the local market (right around the corner) with Mouzad, who helped us chat to the locals.
A trip to a secret hilltop sunset spot with music and snacks
Movie night at the camp, where we watched Africa and I
A rooftop bonfire night with music and dancing
Daily yoga sessions
There’s a strong sense of community here. Guests often know each other from previous trips, and we met plenty of repeat visitors. It’s easy to see why – the team goes out of their way to make everyone feel at home.

The Food at Moja Surf
The food at Moja Surf was a highlight in its own right. Each day brought something new, with meals centred around fresh, hearty Moroccan tagines, pastas, salads, and grains.
Lunch at the beach included sandwiches, pasta salads and more. Snacks often appeared unannounced, from fresh fruit to sweet treats. Breakfasts were generous and always included something warm.
And of course, there is always lots of tea.
Sharing meals on the rooftop as the sun set became one of our favourite rituals.

Getting There: Flights and Transfers
We flew directly from London to Agadir, which is the closest airport to Moja Surf. From there, it’s a short drive to Tamraght, and the camp can arrange a transfer for you.
After our stay, we travelled to Marrakech using a private car organised through Souk to Surf – comfortable, safe and great value.
For flights, you can search routes and prices via sites like Skyscanner or Booking.com.

Without a doubt. Moja Surf is excellent value for money and delivers far more than just surf lessons. It offers culture, community, and connection in a beautiful Moroccan setting.
